Tuesdays for Fully-Funded Withdrawal

MilitaryTracy has hit upon a great idea while helping clean up after the tornadoes down South.
It's called Tuesdays for Fully-Funded Withdrawal.
Building on the power of each individual person, from the beginning it can show solidarity with our Congresspeople who are taking a stand to fully-fund the withdrawal of our troops from Iraq, as well as those we all seek to help: our troops! Over time, it also may become a powerful economic message for the powers that be in DC: BRING OUR TROOPS HOME NOW!!
The people have spoken at the ballot box. Independently, a majority of Americans, and also a majority of Iraqis, want us to leave Iraq NOW! Now it is time for all of us to up the ante and speak with a clear economic message. We will sacrifice our spending for our families on TUESDAYS so that we can FULLY-FUND a WITHDRAWAL!
More specifics below.
Every Tuesday, those who want to show solidarity with our Congresspeople who are trying to bring our troops home, will post a diary about what they gave up that day and how much their activities meant to the US economy.
So, for instance, today I resolved not to go buy a Starbuck's coffee after lunch ($2.65) and to take my bike over to my meetings ($10.00).
That's an economic effect of $12.65. I imagine about 10% of this would have gone to the US government in the form of taxes.
So, I have just deprived this Bush-led government of $1.26 for the war. Just in one day alone.
If every Kossack follows suit (for easy math, there are approximately 100,000 of us) then if we make and keep a similar pledge EVERY TUESDAY, we can deprive the Bush war machine of $126,000 per week.
It may not seem like much in the face of hundreds of billions of appropriations for war and more war, but since this amount is higher than the YEARLY salary of most Americans, I consider it a respectable early achievement.
I imagine others have even better suggestions for expanding and promoting this effort. If we get enough Kossacks on board, Kos might even throw up a bat!
Let us know what you think, and kudos to Military Tracy for her excellent suggestions.
