James Q. Wilson's article was interesting. He made the distinction between liberalism and democracy, and stated that there are some liberal states in the Muslim world that are moving towards democracy. Turkey and Indonesia have essentially achieved it. A reasonable goal in Iraq would be to protect liberalism (are any kneejerk war supporters listening?)
